Dear Ecolog-Listers: One of my US students sent me an email that reads, in part, as follows: "'I feel strongly about making a difference in keeping the Earth a clean and healthy environment. I want to have a career that I can help with environmental planning or something related to this field. I have a few more classes to graduate with my bachelors and I want to start focusing on my post graduation goals. I have worked in healthcare and I really don't want to leave this field but I feel a stronger calling for making a positive difference. Do you have any suggestions or input?'
The student cannot relocate and wishes to earn, at least, 50K annually. Although I have some ideas for the student, I would like to provide the student information with which to try making a well-informed decision.
