I am doing a methods-comparison study of different sampling methods for stream benthic macroinvertebrates, and I would like to see if the methods are correlated by using a Mantel's test.

I was wondering if there were any published guidelines on what constituted a "strong" correlation for ecological data. Peer-reviewed references would be best, but I'd also welcome hearing opinions and subjective experiences, in streams or other systems!

Thanks!
