Job Duties:
Under general direction this position is responsible for
ensuring the biometric quality and planning for about

operational plans. The majority of these research projects
are geographically located in the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim

The position guides biologists toward a definition of what
kind and quality of information is needed for sound
management of recreational fisheries. The position is
responsible for selection of the proper sample survey(s) or
experimental design(s) to provide accurate estimates or
valid tests. In solving complex statistical problems, the

to achieve the desired levels of precision and accuracy, or
the necessary power to detect significant differences
associated with statistical tests. This duty can involve
the derivation of new statistical methods when the old
methods do not fit sampling or experimental situations.
This duty also involves directing project leaders in the
development of biometrically sound sampling schedules. This
position also may help guide or develop programs, models,
and subsequent evaluation of fishery management strategies.

analysis and design related to fish or game resource
management or research will substitute for the required one
year of biometrics experience.
