A number of responses were given over the last
month or so regarding high stakes testing. Did anyone keep this thread
archived? Is there another site that has continuous discussion regarding
high stakes testing, the psychometric issues, the scaling methods, etc.?

I guess I disagree that "good" free statistical software does not exist,
particularly for students learning statistics. ViStat, and packages I have
developed meet the needs of many students.
