Greetings from Pycon 2013 in Santa Clara. We enjoyed a day long Education Summit on Pi Day today (3/14) an pun (py vs pi) that did not go unnoticed.
The program featured a keynote by Walter Bender, founder of Sugarlabs, followed by an unconference of three consecutive sessions and seven lightning talks, culled from a longer list of proposals by public voting process. Topics were wide-ranging, with quite a bit of focus on IPython, IPython Notebooks and IPython Blocks. The Scratch-like graphical Turtle Art program that runs on the XO (or in an XO VM) was another focus of attention. Guido joined us and participated actively in the Q&A during one of the panels. Thanks to all the organizers and sponsors, Naomi in particular, for making this happen.
