Same here, it starts fast, but it degrades over time until the system
becomes unusable and I have to restart. You can see trails of menus
opening if you click many times.

Yes.
Most likely you'd want to look for problems with your hard disk [1] [2]. This
type of corruption can have a wide range of causes finding out what went wrong
is not particularly trivial unfortunately. Generally speaking though from a
package POV
I manually unpacked the library from the
libmarblewidget16_4%3a4.11.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb in my
/var/cache/apt/archives and did an MD5:
388cd41fc3597134ae362bbf0626c0e9 libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2
which matches the GOOD one above !?!?

I _solved_ the following issue by replacing /usr/lib/libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2
with a manually downloaded and extracted copy.

This bug needs now to be notified to the upstream developers of GNOME
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage#Forwarding_upstream).
Once this has been done, it will be ready to be worked on by a
