Ken, Have you looked at 'top' to see if there are any processes hoggging the CPU? Have you looked through logfiles on the server/clients? Are you logging in & launching applications, or simply stopping when they get to an LDM login prompt? Have you updated your chroot? Cheers, Jordan Ken C

Luis, This might sound trivial, but I'm not sure if you'd mentioned you'd completely rebuilt your chroot from scratch as a troubleshooting step. Are you using the complete Edubuntu i386 install, or is it only the i386 kernel you're using? You'd mentioned in your first post that you were using

Mike, On the server - Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal Or, CTRL+ALT+F1. Make sure you're running from the LTSP server though, as CTRL+ALT+F1 from a thin-client will only give you the tty for the chroot - which isn't where we want to re-install edubuntu-desktop. Cheers, Jordan Mike Whi

It looks like I found somewhat of an issue with gnome-watchdog-0.9.2 - in checking up on one of the servers that it's been on since 9/9, I see some stale processes still, and looks like it's got a few of these pertaining to the users of the stale processes: --- # ps aux|grep sleep 9-00130 326
