I have been away from Ekiga for a long time. So my question is: Does one
still need to use a headset with a mic attached, or can one now use a
stand alone mic and speakers?

For those of us still running 2.0.11, I have found that when I first
start Ekiga in the am after a new start, that Ekiga does not come up
until after I do a ps | grep ekiga and find the process that is still
running and the kill it. Then Ekiga starts ok.
