I am experimenting with using the K2 rant input (that's receiver antenna, not
verbal outburst).
I want to use my 20-meter quad as a receiving antenna when I am transmitting on
160 with an inverted L. It is a lot quieter. The L is right next to the quad,
so a lot of voltage is induced in the
Hi Phil,
I designed the KNB2 before the KNB1, and the KNB2 is the more versatile
the two blankers. It also has more dynamic range, compatible with the
K2's receiver.
If your friend wants to use the KNB2 in his own design, he'll need to
substitute discrete control signals for those that are n
Hi Everyone,
A good friend of mine wrote the following to me, and I was hoping I might

Mike,
Trouble with that is you can't predict which of the 8 capacitors will be
connected. It may be the ones from only one side of the output bus. My
original breadboard, now scrapped, used just one relay per capacitor and I
found that the circuit was badly out of balance when *no* capacitor

John W2XS, I have been wondering about a balanced L

I was by no means criticizing any other auto tuner with the Auto Tuner Wish
List, including Elecraft's. The reason for the wish list in the first place
was to express the desire for a BALANCED tuner - by design - not an
unbalanced tuner by design with a balun on the output. I am sure the KAT100
Funny you should ask. That is almost exactly what I want except I want mine

I have come back to the fact that the LC or CL antenna tuner is a very good

Here is what I would like in an auto tuner.

along in parallel. No control software changes are needed - just another
set of inductors and relays. T

Vin,
I'm in the middle of putting my KFL1-4 board (rev B) together also. I
posted a picture of the blue cap section here:
http://www.io.com/~nielw/qrp/KFL14_bluecaps.jpg . I just checked and the
only cap adjustment slots that do not show connection ground are four
that are grounded through a relay
Well, problem resolved by standing up and wiggeling conectors. You may
be laughing, but it freaked me out!

Just assembled K1 #1945 with the K1-4 option. Like you, I had some

understanding the directions and still installed them backwards ...
consistently though.
The only problem with installing them backwards is that yo

True, and thanks for the clarification.
My CW PTT for the K2 does not address a situation where the K2 is keyed by
its internal commands - it only works with hardwired inputs to the K2 key
jack.
How many folks using or contemplating SO2R are using the KY commands for
keying?

Guys, come on - the real answer? Because they are less than half the
cost of an IC-7800 and outperform that radio also!
So if anyone who has two K2s is feeling guilty about it at this point,
then follow these directions:
Find a nice box, well padded.
Place the extra K2 and its accessories in
