I have enough BFO range as described in the manual and am able to reach
4912.97 on the low end. Unfortunately, while that is low enough for me
to center the RTTY filters on 1000Hz for one of the sidebands, it is not
for the other. On the "bum" sideband, the narrowest RTTY filters are
centered
Good Evening,
Tomorrow night another round or two of the Elecraft CW Net will be
run. Propagation has been on again off again but that's OK, we'll work
something out. If Mr. Hammond is available we can relay stations across
the continent. Last week I heard Ray, K2HYD, relaying a station i
Since I also work on commercial FM radios (I own 3 repeaters) my Tech Bench
is built upon those shelf units that you find in home discount stores etc.
I have two shelf units on either side {and perpendicular} of my work area,
and they support my main work area shelf. My work surface area is a
I know many of you out there set up your filters using Spectrogram on a
Windows PC, but some of us only have (or simply prefer to use)
Macintosh computers.
I recently had to completely reconfigure my filters, as I added the
RTTY mode. In order to accommodate my chosen center frequency of 150
Anyone having this problem.?? Solution ??
After setting up the TRN3 and/or TRN6 parameters in the K2 and returning to
normal operation, as soon as VFO knob turned the frequency on the display go to
what seems to a randome one, AND VFO input is ignored (?) as dispaly is

S/N 4751 with KSB2 is now on the air - the first contact was a TI8 from
Florida with great audio reports using the MD2 Heil mike (i.e., all jumpers
and the 5.6K ohm resistor are in place on the front panel). All subsequent
signal reports have been great as well - not bad for 12 watts into an 80

Hi
The new back panel is a silkscreened and drilled heatsink panel that has the
transverter connector holes. When installing the 60 meter/transverter option
you can install this panel to replace your old panel.
You can drill your old heatsink panel if you want but this replacement makes
it eas
From time to time someone mentions the "new" heat sink back panel for
the K2. I haven't seen a picture of it on the web site or item listed
in Options. I've suggested that Elecraft make a PSK friendly back
panel - with holes for Line In/Out or one hole for a 5 pin DIN plug
to handle those I/O.

Dale thanks for the comments. I have been thinking about trying to

Well, sort of, but the hotel was right opposite the historic Guzzi
factory in Mandello del Lario, on the Como lake in northern Italy.
For my first portable operation with the KX1 this past wednesday, I used
a 7m long wire hung from the window knob, going round a door frame and
ending on the bed. U
Hello,
Ed, WA3WSJ and myself, WB3AAL, will be out on the Appalachian Trail today
for the LAITF contest.

Not sure if we will be near Rte 501 at a camp area or the pond at Rte 183,
depends on the wind.
I will be using my K1 at 5 watts on 15, 20, 30 & 40 meters and
Good Evening Aki,
Is the frequency of the *hum* modulation the same as the frequency of your
sidetone, or one of its harmonics or sub-harmonics?
