My guess is that somewhere in writing that example the numbers changed

with 29.6 dB and explaining away the fact that the tenths digit is
insignificant so should be rounded up). 1.48 *is* the log of 30, so

The J-37 I have is a KY-116G...Very plain, austere key...IMHO it is obvious
that the 2 J-38's are of far superior construction, especially the pivot
bearings...The J-38's also have a shorting switch, the J-37 does not, although
I would never use that feature anyway...

Hi there,
Long time being on this list due to K2 number 716
Now I updated the rig to a Rev B and have the following problems.
Output without AT all OK
When I put the AT between then no relays are heard and the display
shows LO P
In the menu all settings L0 through C0 the relays are clicking.
Line B. of the example should read : log(33)=1.52
Apparently there was a typo in line B that propagated into line C. The log
of 30 is 1.48, that's where the value of 1.48 in line C came from.
Example should read:
A. R=1.0/0.03 = 33
B. log(33)=1.52
C. 20*1.52=30dB
D. MDS= -107dBm - 30dB =

Of course the results could be skewed since it is not a completely
random survey as well. That is, you are tallying results from only
those who responded. Maybe those folk who are left handed felt more
compelled to respond than those who are right handed. Interesting,

I've been using my QRP K2 for the last 2-3 years with a full sized Palstar

ladder line, choke baluns, the Elecraft balun, etc. I'm thinking about
going to an auto tuner (Dayton Hamvention coming). Has anyone compared the

I'm glad to say that my K2 is now fully alive!
I had a bad solder joint on the 12 v line to the final amp.
Now proceeding with construction of SSB and ATU.

The new firmware has a new submenu that allows you to select whether
sidetone comes from U6-25 or U8-1. With the mods required with the new
firmware, you don't have a choice. You MUST select sidetone from U8 or it
won't work.
