Seems to me the biggest issue would be (DC) power. Most of the rigs that

Could someone tell me where the dedicated Antenna socket for the

Given that no functionality of the KXV3 is lost, I am assuming the
'Ref' blank socket is not used - or is it?

No,
Chris,
I would think the input levels of whatever instrumentation you will
connect to the coupler as well as the power levels that you will have at
the input will dictate whether you build it for -20 dB or -30 dB.
I have both and use them on the test bench with a Tandem Match power/SWR
meter.
For those who I promised the information, I have just uploaded how I use my
K3 to automatically switch VHF/UHF transverters. This includes how I got
over the lack of a ptt only when transverting from the k3.
It is at http://g4fre.com/k3vhf.pdf

A replacement fan panel is supplied with the K144XV option that
includes a BNC jack for the 2 m antenna.
You could optionally use the REF location.

Hi,
This is my second K2 build
Just got to Alignment and Test Part III and can't get RF out.
Receiver tests OK
Supply is 13.8V
8V regulator gives 7.59V
5V regulator gives 4.99V
AGC threshold is 3.6V (highest voltage I can get) - same as first K2
built.
No measurable power out -
Any suggestions for the K-3 eq settings when using the Hiel PR 781 mic?

This was my first trip to Dayton too. I also had a GREAT time! I already had

Congrats on your new radio Pete! Wonder how many they sold at Dayton??

Just got back from my first Dayton experience. What a blast! Enjoyed seeing the

Just so I understand, the W2 as priced will only come with a 200w coupler???
If I wanted a 2000w coupler, I would need to pay $229 (kit price) + whatever
the upgrade cost is for the 2kw coupler? Is that correct?

What about a 20W coupler?
Some questions about KDVR3:
-Is this board in between dsp and ad/da converters so that it records the
dsp stream directly?
-Is soundquality/samplebitrate equal to the K3 itself without any loss?
-How many RX soundfiles can it store?
-Can it auto-record controlled by squelch (as a dx/call guard)?
Thanks Don,
Problem was with D36 (SMT1B) - used pad 1 and 2 not 2 and 3
RTFM!

Yes.

It uses 16-bit samples. The DSP in the K3 is floating point.
-How many RX soundfiles
To add to this, I have a KDVR3 and it sounds better than a PC or any DVR
I've used in the past.

I'm a computer idiot so I hope this is not too dumb of a question. I
currently use N3FPR's ACLog using an RS232 cable to a USB adapter cable to

Multiple applications using the same real serial port is one situation,

Dave,
That is true, I pointed out that an application *like* LP-Bridge
provides multiple virtual ports.
I did not intend to say that any particular application would work with
LP-Bridge. There are other similar applications, and some *may* work.

I'll see what I can come up with as I really would like top be able to use

Depending on what you want to accomplish, you might consider an
alternate approach -- try to find a logging program that controls
the K3 in the ways you need.
I'm curious; would anyone want a 200w coupler vs a 2Kw coupler? Is the 2Kw
coupler less responsive/accurate than a 200w coupler? What are the coupler
specifications?

The 200-W coupler is more accurate at QRPp power levels (around 1 W and
lower).
Full specs will be posted soon.
