I expect the presence of the CQWW SSB contest this weekend to make having
the net tomorrow challenging if not imposible. I will tentatively cancel
tomorrow's net. However, I will check the area around 14.314 MHz at net
time (1800Z) tomorrow and give the net a try if QRM isn't too bad. We'll
see.
Most of what you are looking for are displayed in a window in DL2RUM's
excellent RUMLog. But it is Mac only so unless you are running a Mac I guess
that's not an option.

I was out in the heavy fog pushing my squeaky wheelbarrow. I was

I have a different opinion my ham friends.
I don't mind at all an extra knob turning / button pushing to utilize APF.
You don't need the APF functionality all the time.
It is a tool to be used in the real tough cases where the signal is right down

Barry,
I don't believe there is anything out there that only displays the
parameters. Most applications that display the parameters also allow
them to be changed - making the changes is the minor part of the

You could just run the application and look at the display - there

You probably have the Rx equalizer set to boost audio at the tone
frequency you are using for these measurements. Set it to flat - Rx EQ
is not in effect at 50 Hz and 100Hz selectivity of the K3. It is on my
list of possible DSP code changes.
Meanwhile, if you really want to use Rx EQ in CW,

Chuck,
Something you can try at reducing the ringing noise is to keep your IF Shift
centered on the Pitch Freq. Then when you tune in a signal, move your RIT to
tune the station about 20Hz lower than Pitch freq. This will put you away from
all of the noise in the center of the IF, now move

Yes, that setup should be correct. The order of things is important.
First set the mic gain to give the proper amount of audio drive.

Bill,
When setting up for voice modes, that should be 5 to 7 bars on the ALC

Add compression as you want after setting the mic gain level.
It is 4 to 5 bars for data modes.
The fact is that the K3 "ALC" meter is like a VU
That is exactly what I was going to write, Phil. DON'T use ALC to set drive

Just a short note - this KDVR3 is the best.
