Here's my guess, Scott:
Perhaps it's working, ie. sending CW over the air, but it is zero beat with

Hi Tom,
The dimensions are essentially the same ...
We saw the first two at Visalia last year, and
will be making cases and covers for them.

I wonder what the dimensions of the KPA500 are. It doesn't look much larger

Pardon me for what is probably a simple issue. I'm new to the K3 this fall
and am fooling around with the macros. I'm trying to make one that will send
my call in Morse while operating SSB. Kind of like a repeater does on 2m FM
etc. I tried the following macro:
PC020;KS017;MD3;TX;KYWN1IRB;RX;MD1;
Playing with new KDSP2 here, resetting it to defaults - I've got the default
filter centers and bandwidths, low/high cuts, etc... but can't find in the
manual where the default values are listed for the denoiser Beta and decay
values.
Can I somehow set default "aggressiveness" of the denoiser to f
My new this year K3 is exhibiting some strange behavior of the band
switch in the down direction... Sometimes it'll beep, and not change
bands, sometimes it'll change mode rather than band, occasionally it'll
actually do what it's supposed to do...
Ideas?

They are on 30 meter CW right now - 10116.4 and they are listening up 1 to

Bill,
Well, it is fortunate you are not down to 2 bands after a reset.
The menu parameters that were restored to default are BFO, DDS, SIG,
B30. B80, and ATU. If you had the Sidetone pitch and level set to
anything other than the defaults, those need to be reset too. In other
words, if you
After you are on b30, hit the RIT/2/CLR button to get b80 and then
press/hold Edit to turn it on.

There's a lot you can do:
1) Search for "BPL (or Plasma TV) Class Action Suits" in the internet to
learn of many under way that you might join.
2) The ARRL is a good resource for actions being taken and for documenting
cases like yours to support lobbying efforts.

I think you'll find that "Digital mode info" is stored with the 'Band'.
Also, as you get setup for a contest, go thru the bands you'll be using and
select the mode, and press "A>B" twice and it will set the freq and mode
info on "B" same as "A". Much easier when later you need to go 'split', this

For whatever reason, they haven't been very loud here in Missouri. Charles,
S9SS, is usually quite loud, and when Martti was there as S9BB he had big
signals here. Maybe their vertical antenna setup isn't optimal for their
location. However, if you can hear them it's not hard to work them now that

The data sub-mode is stored per band. In addition if you use M0-M9
as quick band change memories, the data sub-mode is stored/recalled
from those memories.

If VFO B is not on the same band, you are correct. However, there
are plenty of times that one might want to use cross mode split -
it is quite common in VHF operation.
You can avoid the "VFO on the wrong band" issue simply by setting
CONFIG:VFO IND = No. Therefore again, making the VFOs synchr

No, I operate More than enough to know how much
I was able to work-em, when propagation peaked my way.
I've found that I can press the K2's "B" button down just enough to
shift to the xmit freq temporarily.
And that way I can pop back and forth between "A" and "B" so I can
follow along with the stations getting in.
Pile-ups are stange animals.
I received a P3 late Friday and got it configured Saturday. After a
weekend of dxing with a minimal antenna setup, I 'm wondering how I ever
operated without the P3 since I'm finding dx that I wouldn't have found
without it. It has an added benefit in that I can tell if my neighbor's

Bob,

Thanks for the VFO IND information.
Yes, I think you have a valid reason to want that feature, as long as the VFO
frequencies don't change unless you are QSX cross-band.
Thank you for the direct email exchange and enlightenment regarding "VFO IND". I
enjoyed it.
