In the last two days we've seen a number of questions raised regarding the
KX3's I/Q output and its frequency response characteristics. In an effort to
provide some information that others may find helpful, this evening I made
several measurements of my KX3's I/Q output (early 700 S/N) using my

After activating ATU TUNE my KX3 will not transmit in USB or LSB.
BUTCycling the mode button to CW and then back to SSB always corrects
the problem. There has never been a problem on CW . just USB or LSB.

I hooked up my KX3s IQ port to an EMU0202 sound card and used NaP3 to
display the spectrum.
With no preamp, the display floor is fairly flat, as Scott found. With
preamp, the floor is humped in the middle, as apparently the bandwidth of
the preamp rolls off smoothly at frequencies further
Folks, I was a bit confused by some the rhetoric here recently about the JUMA
PA100. Some of it based on supposition. I asked my JUMA friends for some
information and they provided it. It is posted on their site. So now you can
make informed decisions. Here is the info and the link for further

Using a SignaLink USB interface, I often see cocoaModem
reporting input overload from strong signals on 20 meters with
the noise barely visible on the waterfall. This occurs with both
the K3 and the Small Wonder Labs PSK-20 driving the system. (The
Icom 706 MK2G generates a lot more noise.) I
