I’ve never spilled. That would be an obvious caveat. But actually these buttons
feel like the sealed surface mount kind.

The KPOD is subject to spills etc. Just like a keyboard. Spills onto the pad
can create issues. Amazing no one has mentioned this potential cause.

Totally agreed. Issues with Win 10 are, in my IT experience, usually user
created problems. Yes port assignments can change, even by replugging a usb
port. To me this is of little bother, unless I was removing, then would need
remote access to correct which isn't that difficult.

Do the same error conditions occur when the radio is connected directly

Thanks so much for the numerous responses. A month ago a bought a 13" Dell
with "factory loaded" UBUNTU and have been very pleased with its
performance. I'm very new to UBUNTU but have run Puppy in the past and
have been very pleased with it. Two more questions if I may... Is UBUNTU

Is there an ATU involved? If so , the TX signal and RX signal are then common
to the path through the ATU.
I don't think the RX signal goes through the 100W PA.
Also consider the antenna port switching. That is common to both RX and TX
signal paths.

Could it be overheating? Or is the temperature calibration is out of whack.

Rich,
Try removing and reseating the amplifier module several times.
Some people suggest Deoxit, but the regular version of Deoxit is not
designed for gold plated contacts, and I don't know if these are or not.
Use caution.
I'd blame FT8, but some guys don't have a sense of humor.

I use Mint - it is wonderful. Keep it completely updated for about 20
seconds a week - and never requires a reboot. Too bad more software is
not available for Linux.

Not Ubuntu, but its parent Debian. Right now Debian 10 (Buster) is
quite stable and nearly boring to a fault!
