[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Announcement

2021-11-27 Thread kevin
Good Evening,    There were a few clear nights this week, cold with many stars.  The days have been shades of gray.  It is hard to tell the time of day from the sun.  Some rain, ranging from heavy to a mist or dense fog.  You can smell next year's soil decomposing.   The sun has perked up.

On the Config menu of the K3 there is a Lin Out level setting. P. 57 of the manual explains in detail. 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the new Reverse Beacon Network web server at. For spots, please use your favorite "retail" DX cluster. On 11/27/2021 8:53 PM, Barry wrote

[Elecraft] K3 sidetone volume when using Line Out

2021-11-27 Thread Barry
Was operating remote in CQWW using a K3 and RCforB.  I was unable to adjust the sidetone volume, which I found too loud.  The host is using Line Out to connect to the sound card, which provides a fixed audio level.  is there a way to independently adjust the sidetone level via Line out? Tnx,

Returning to the original subject ... I've found: 1.  Power, by itself, is usually one of the lesser factors in such cases of interference.  It does come into play in #3/#4 below 2.  Audio input level is a big contributor when it's set too high and you're saturating the PA. 3.  Phase noise

[Elecraft] Need K3 Board

Can you say "planned obsolescence?" There are lots of good and bad reasons for this, so I am not dissing Elecraft in any way.  One of the good reasons is the difficulty in in maintaining parts and repeating production of rarely ordered minor daughter boards,  and then there is the incentive to

I don't see how a common mode choke would help in that situation. If the noise changes that dramatically depending upon where you have the antenna pointed, that strongly suggests that the noise is being received by the antenna and is not riding on the shield of the coax.  If it is received by

I primarily work eme so band noise is a prime enemy of weak signals. I was reading the comments about combating mic noise and wondered if adding some ferrite beads to my 6m coax at the shack would have any effect on received broad-band noise. I definitely see the noise peak in one direction o

I think that's an excellent offer.  In the absence of Elecraft supporting these older boards (as I stated in my first post, when I asked Elecraft to repair my KIO3 they declined), it would be great if we could compile a small database of people like yourself willing and able to do proper repa

My KI03 board failed in 2020 and I was lucky to get it repaired by Elecraft (though it took months due to Covus issues). I blew up a ferrite cube and IC so decided to have them do the repair since the IC leads were high density and I didn't trust being able to desolder without damage to the bo
