I am re-arranging the shack desk. Is anyone stacking the KPA500 on top of
the KAT 500? Any weight or heat issues ? Or is it ok to do?

Like Jim, I've had my KPA on top for years. No heat issues because the KPA
generates the heat and it is on top.
Also, with all of the cables attached to the KAT500 I find it is better
having the KAT on the bottom so the cables lay flat on the table rather
than all of them arching over the back of
The KX3 and PX3 have been sold.

Ditto James' answer. Not only is there no problem doing this, if I recall
correctly, they were designed for this use case.

When I had the KPA500/KAT500 I also had the KPA on top of the KAT. No problem.
It is also my understanding that like Ian it was designed to be set up with the
KPA on top of the KAT.

Is there a product, some kind of a little box, that allows me to quickly
switch the KX3 mic/phones between SignaLink and my mic and speakers ?
I know it sounds lazy !

want to stack all three: K3, KPA500, and KAT500. What do you suggest? I
don't use the K3 external speaker.

Perhaps I wasn't specific enough. I'm looking to stack them directly on top
of each other, not on shelves. Which component goes on the bottom and which
on top?

If it were me, I'd go (bottom to top) KAT500-KPA500-K3.
Make sure to allow plenty of room around the stack for ventilation - at
least a couple of inches all around.

switch, a small box and a capacitor should do it. The capacitor is to block the

While making dinner I looked out at the hummingbird feeder. Two of
them were sitting on it, both seemed large. The Anna's Hummingbirds are

According to the KAT500 manual, the KAT is structurally sound to handle the
weight of the KPA500 and the legs on the KPA500 give it enough clearance for
air. I think the rear of the KPA500 is more critical in terms of clearance for
air. I have the KPA500 & KAT500 and never set up the equipment
