According to the manual you need only 3.5 - 7 W drive for 100W output.
Have you checked that 3dB attenuator, Pin, RF Drive, is in the OUT/AUTO
position?

FT-891 puts out 98W on full key down with PS reading around 15.3A output in
the same setup as the KX3/KXPA100.
