I also use HRD / DM780. It works fine for me. Initially, v6 was a little
shaky but they've smoothed it out pretty well. I use it more now than I did
with my FT-857D.
I hope Keith is right and they incorporate WSJT into it. I've been using
that mode a lot lately.

They've never made any statement about the cost and they've never given
specific dates, only general estimates. Those estimates have slipped as
time has passed.
Those 'rumors' got started as the TenTec information was released and the

I have to agree with the others here. There's something wrong on your end.
The update process takes no more than a couple of minutes and most of that
is just the time for the wipe and write processes in the radio itself, not
the transfer.
Keep in mind that most manufacturer's radios top out at a
I read that same article and am interested in trying it out. I haven't seen
any activity yet on the 20m frequency listed on the FreeDV website. I'll
keep an eye out for something happening. I hope the article might get some
others interested.

I've been using a Tokyo High Power HL-45B and have been satisfied enough
with it. It's only 50 watts and it doesn't do automatic band switching with
the KX3 but the price point is well below where the Elecraft amp will
likely be announced.

I suppose that if these days playing video games is considered a sport then
this hobby could be as well. I think that would have been a stretch in
1958.

I've only had my KX3 for a month. I tried for a week to make a contact
without success. I was really getting frustrated. As it turned out, I was
in PSK D mode rather than Data A. Once I figured out that mistake,
everything was fine after that.

Are you talking about the KX3? Voltage display information is in the
manual, page 22, left column, second item.
Here's my hint for the manual. Download the PDF version and use the find
function. Searching on voltage will get you there. It's more efficient than
thumbing through page by page. I
It absolutely does. It makes me wish I had gone with a built rather than a

It's definitely still available. I bought one last week. I got mine from an
estate dealer (never used in the original sealed box) but HRO sells it as
well.

After multiple restarts of DM780 I finally closed all the software and

I found a second issue that all of the macros were set back to the defaults

I downloaded it last night and they had problems with their key server so
it was quite late before I could even run it. I have a KX3 and it didn't
seem any different at all for the tiny bit of time I got to use it.

The website says they use Mantis for bug reports. I registered with it and
tried to submit a report but it doesn't have any projects in it and won't
allow a report submission without a project selected. Since I couldn't do
that, I entered a regular support ticket instead.
