I'm on page 60 and had been having a heck of a time getting the 4MHz
Oscillator calibration in spec. Got it in spec (12110.84), and proceeded to
the PLL Reference Oscillator range test. Pushing Band+ and Band- yielded a
change of a few Hz, but nothing approaching the required range of

Went through and went over every solder joint. Took several hours, but
now I get a reading on the Freq Probe at TP3 for the 4.000 MHz adjustment.
Problem is: It reads 9.050 MHz, and I can get the tone on my other receiver
(@9.050) with the antenna wire wrapped around the 4MHz crystal o
Poor solder joints! Imagine that. Thanks to everyone who chimed in, it
took about an hour to get straightened out this morning with a fresh
perspective.

Thanks to you guys who've replied. I forgot to mention that the backlight
works. I tried resetting the radio (i.e. holding down 4,5, & 6 while turing
the K2 on) and the display shows "Info 201". So, something inthere works.
But still get nothing other than that.

I've been having a great time assembling my K2, I'm at the Alignment and
Test, Part II, where you turn on your K2. For some reson, I do not get the
"Elecraft" on the display, or indeed anything. I can't SEE any obvious bad
soldering, altho that's my first suspect. I'm bugging the list abo
