Downsizing requires I sell the shack equipment. K3 (factory assembled), ACOM
1000 (maybe 5 hours on the amp), Astron RS-35A power supply and AT2K tuner. I
don’t recall exactly what was installed on K3 but believe it was: K3/100 KXV3A
IF Out and RX Ant.General coverage RX bandpass KUSB 500 Hz
Just moved and my K3 needs a new antenna. My only option is to run a wire
antenna over my roof--I have about 110-120 feet to play with and I can get one
end up off the ground 25 feet and the center and other end about 35 feet. Any
ideas? Or references to an antenna group that can help? Thanks

Post:
A quick question. I have a Heil Proset headset into the front of the K3.
Sometimes when I fire up my ACOM 1000 amp I experience the following problem. I
am running the K3 PTT relay thru an LP-100 and then into the amp, with a
Palstar
tuner on the output side from the amp. SWR is about 1.2
The K2 must go to make way for the new K3.
K2/100 KPA100
KSB2 SSB
K160RX
KNB2-noise blanker
KDSP2-DSP filter
powerpole power cable
serial cable for computer connection.
$1100 plus actual shipping to CONUS
An MFJ-993B also available $200.
Please respond off-list
I am upgrading the shack from a K2 to K3. I have a nice Palstar tuner and an
ACOM amp. I am mostly a SSB guy, not big on contests or FM. Given these
resources and needs my planned configuration for the new K3 is:
K3/100 KXV3A IF Out and RX Ant. General coverage RX bandpass KDVR3-DVR KUSB
I am thinking about a move up in power for my K2/100. The reviews
seem to favor an Acom 1000 or Tokyo Hi-Power. What is the collective
wisdom here? Thanks
