between CW and SSB. There must be a way to do this without a macro or
perhaps not?

I'd like to scan SSB segments of a particular ham band with TAP SCAN so that
the rcvr stays muted until it hears a signal, particularly when working on
shack projects and I'm not to close to the rig. The K3 will stop on an SSB
signal but the transmssion isn't intelligible 'cause the freq it stops
Jeff,
I was in the same situation with native RTTY and PSK decoding with the K3.
We camp a lot in our small RV trailer and I wanted to master the native
capability B4 hooking up a computer. I just couldn't get the hang of tuning
PSK and RTTY, but got it down pat now. Most of the ham band RTTY
S/N 4335 (so I'm new) with KVX3 installed. I like to switch between two
antennas when checking the HF beacons or even before calling someone to help
determine if one antenna better than another. I'm mostly doing this with my
end fed antenna into the T1 auto tuner and a 25-foot vertical mast fed
Hello Jim,
I have the AIM 4170 antenna analyzer ( w5big.com ). I could sweep the balun
in 1:1 and 4:1 mode is you'd like. I'm not sure it will give you the
choking impedance but will do some checking with the designer of the AIM.
Let me know if that is of interest. You can see what some AIM s
Hi Ron,
I'm pretty much done with my testing on decoding PSK31. Using the method I
tried, now I don't have to use the CW mode to help spot the right frequency
to tune to in data mode. I trained my ear to recognize the 1010 Hz spotting
tone that Lyle, KK7P, pointed out. And it's been much more
Lyle and Ron,
Lyle, thanks on the PITCH freq for PSK mode. That would explain why that
macro has the IF shifted to 1100. I've spent last two days using W1AW twice
per day data transmissions as a reference and have now developed an approach
to more quickly gain success as PSK decodes and reduce f
doesn't get a PSK decode with the same
reliability as SPOT CW when actually doing CW QSOs.
I'll be following this thread most carefully.
