Tighter than that makes understanding the voice on the other end extremely
difficult. For a general SSB QSO I usually tighten the DSP filter to 2.1 to
2.2 and that sounds excellent.

I think location has a deciding factor also. I received an application in 2
days via email and was given a callsign within 2 months...Unfortunately due
to operations in country I have not been able to participate.

Great post Ron, this is the reason I have stuck with the Elecraft reflector.
And also why I now own all three elecraft rigs. I have learned so much by
reading the discussions even when they do not apply to me or seem important.
