Greetings allI just realized my K2 (# 3500+) is getting old, I can't
remember exactly when I bought the kit from Elecraft, but at least 12-13 years
ago.
So, as things begin to wear out, any suggestions on what to clean, as in
different front-panel POT controls that and suggestions what to us
FYI: AA9IV sells a really nice professionally-made, weighted heavy spinner dial
knob for the K2 on eBay.
I have no connection with AA9IV, just stumbled over his eBay listening and I'm
glad I did. I didn't realize how crappy the Elecraft knob is until I installed
this one!!

Greeting all to all the K2 wizards out there! I'm more curious than concerned,
using CW, I notice when I go from FL1 to FL2 my general "noise level" seems to
go up to the point I need to turn down the volume -- is this normal behavior? I
would expect the noise level to go down as the filtering g
I've seen this error before. My K2 (S/N 3500+ with latest firmware updates) had
been off, no 12vdc to rig for about 2 months. When I applied DC to the rig and
ATU and tried running the auto-tuner I got PA HOT error on the display, this
after about 1 minute of warm up!
So, went to the KPA100 man
Does the MH2 mic for the K2 work with the KX3?

The PA temperature has not been properly calibrated.
Check the menu entry for CAL TPA. Turn the K2 off and let it acclimate
to the ambient temperature, then set the value for CAL TPA to the room
temperature in degC.
If you do not have a thermometer that reads in degC, convert from
Fahrenh
Once in a while, immediately after turning on K2 (SN 3500+ with all mods) I hit
the CW key and get a: PA HOT message. Any thoughts what's going on here, rig is
cold, so PA can't be warm.
Cycling off 12v power seems to fix this?
