I am interested in getting into CW contesting and have seen reference to
the Winkey Keyer by K1EL. My Rig is an Elecraft K3 and I use N1MM for
logging. Is there utility in using a keyer in addition to that provided by

I have an Elecraft K3/10 getting great reception on AM using attic dipole
on 7.290 mHz. Does this mode transmit well for QRP? (I use digital modes
and do not own a mic.)

I have a K3/10 and live in a CCR environment. Presently I have a homebrew
dipole (66 feet of stranded copper) in the attic. It works quite well but I

I am migrating to a new laptop with Win7. I have downloaded HRD
(Version 4.1) and everything seems to work like it did on my old
machine. I have also downloaded newest Prolific drivers. But the
waterfall seems to show loose/scattered signal with minimal/partial
de-code. I have tried to mess with se
I posted some time ago and wanted to check if anyone has heard of a
solution or update to HRD to resolve the problem. Software boots up
fine. Then after 15 minutes, screen freezes and/or goes blue and
crashes.

I am setting up a new laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium along
with HRD (latest version) and system works fine.at first.
However if I close the top and come back later to re-access I get an

you will end up getting a lot of information and still looking for
direction at the end of the day. My advice would be start with a
dipole or end fed wire as high up as you can get it. Preferably half
wave. So if you working 40

Stealth is a very strong consideration. It seems that a SteppIR

Looking for some advice. I am a new ham running a K3/10 with 66 feet
of stranded copper in the attic using RG213 as a feedline. Using
Fldigi, I hear and de-code CW, PSK, Olivia and Hell very well and from
all over the world. When I call CQ I see it on the waterfall, hear
sidetone and see 4 ALC bars
Can anyone advise me of the proper settings in the software to get
Fldigi up and running? Also, should I be in FSK D Data Mode? Thank you

I just loaded up the latest version of the K3 Utility (3.44). Using a
K3 with HRD the monitor (within HRD) shows a CW signal being
transmitted but the red light does not come on during TX. Is something
wrong or is this normal protocol? Thank you in advance.

My K3 works well for CW at 5 watts but it seems I cannot get through
to stations using PSK 31. Is there a minimum power level suggested for

I have a K3/10 (with a 66' dipole in the attic) and get great
reception on PSK-31.
I have two questions. Should AGC be "on" or "off"? Aside from having a
dedicated sound card...is there a Rx or Tx advantage to using an
interface like Rigblaster. Thanks again for all the help you have

I have a k3 with internal antenna tuner connected to a 40 meter dipole
in the attic. Will the internal ATU work for me visiting other bands
or would I be better off installing a tuner between the rig and the
antenna? Is an auto tuner more preferred than automatic? Thanks to all
