I had them on "watch" at BH and received an email about a week ago that they
are no longer stocking them, but will handle as special order. Don't know if
their price has changed.

Most prices I found on the Internet were in the $59 range. B&H Photovideo in
NYC lists it at $38.95 but they are currently out of stock.
I'll try my local Sam Ash.

Don,
Well, with egg on face ...
When I went to try your last suggestion, the K2 gave me a low battery
indication and would go no further. I did a short recharge and the CAL
PLL procedure is running as expected.
Sorry to have bothered you with this, but thanks for your help.
Gary
Don,
Yes, I did all that. Just checked it. My instructions say it is C71 not
C73 that is changed. Other than that, all is as you say.

Subject line says it. Everything has gone perfectly until I hit this.
Manual says I'm probably not on 40 M. VFO says 7030.00. Only
non-standard part of build is that I'm using the UnMods kit for all
options as well as their Internal Microphone Adaptor. All measurements
have been amazingly spot
There are 6 MV209 varactor diodes. Four are also marked as 417 and two
as 412. Are these the same? Interchangeable?
Thanks,

I have a K2 on order and plan to add the KSB2, KAT2, KDSP2 and K160RX.
The 100w option and KAT2-100 will come later and probably be installed
in a separate enclosure.
My question is regarding any advice as to building and installing any of
the above options during the K2 build. In other words w
Yes, and it has been getting updated with more increases during the day.
I'm waiting for some eBay auctions to close Sunday so I can order my K2.
I had hoped we would get some warning when the date was firm, crap :-( .

A few minor tweaks left but I heard a lot of activity on 30M with about
4 feet of wire.
Time to put the finishing touches on my antennas and then I'll be out
there trying for QRP DX.

Thanks to all that replied on and off list. I've tried a wick and the RS
solder sucker and have the bottom clean and clear but there is still
just a bit but enough solder on the top of the board to hold the IC in
place. Think I'll go the safe route and order a replacement from
Elecraft and clip
I finally found the cause of my inability to align the band filter in my
K1 under construction. I installed the RF board U2 backwards :-[ . I've
managed to suck the solder from the holes on the bottom of the board,
but still have some on the top. I'm trying to salvage the IC (product
detector)
Thanks, Sandy and Don. Looks like the two-band modules will give me the
flexibility I want. Can't wait to get started. USPS tracking shows it
has arrived and been processed through the Phoenix sorting facility.
I'll have my kit tomorrow!

I should receive my new K1-2 with KAT1 tomorrow or Monday. I ordered
40M and 30M for starters. I will add others shortly. My question is
regarding modification for other bands. I've seen replacement parts
lists for 12 and 10 M. Is there any reason the KFL1-4 is limited to
40/30/20 and 17 or 15
I've just ordered a M+. I'm using a 7AH 12v gel cell. I would appreciate
some suggestions for appropriate solar panels for this application.

Jim,
Nice to have the K3 assembly information. Have you or anyone else noted
the time to assemble a K2? I hope to build one or the other sometime in
the not too distant future.
