Dick, I'm using the DX-Pedition Bag from Rose Kopp. You can take the Bag with K3 and some other stuff as a Cabin Luggage! Every year I'm going to activate EU031 and this Bag with the K3 is with me on the Plain and also on some Ferry's. Here are some more on Information on this Bag:

[Elecraft] KX3 Kabel RS232 / USB

Hello, Got a Pigtail Interface for using the KX3 on my iPad. The KX3 needs to be interfaced to the Pigtail with an RS232 (DP-9) Serial Cable. I do have the KXUSB.. Is it possible to use a USB to Serial Interface for that one ?? Or rather design a new cable with a DP9 (2; 3; and 5) ?? Mni tnx. 73!
