Thanks Don & Keith
I'm going to replace both pots and do the wiring mod. Also saw in the
archives where the earphone jack can be an issue and will replace that
too.

Just setting up for field day and my P3 has developed a problem. About 5
seconds after startup the spectrum box clears and redraws about once a
second. While it is blank the text "5 ms / div" appears in the lower left
corner outside of the waterfall box.
Any ideas?
Ordered mine on Jan 28th and got the email notification today.

I experience this as well, only on 80 meters with the KPA500 in
operate. Always thought that it was RF getting into the KAT500 sensing
as I can usually back off to 300 Watts, force a KAT500 re-tune and continue.

Good point Don!
That's why I use stainless steel hardware and ICE 602 copper/aluminum
anti-oxidant paste.

, and the KAT3 tuned to a good match. Then when I went
back to check 160, all was well again. Needless to say, I was relieved. Went
back to the contest and had no more problems.
Anyone else ever experience anything like this?

Good Job! to the Subassembly Packers Ryan, Susan, Alex and Leony, and to
everyone else at Elecraft that had a part in putting this kit together and
processing my order.
