I have a K3, that has been upgraded with the addition of a KIO3B. I have a USB
cable going from the K3 to my computer, and the RS-232 RJ45 jack has the
Elecraft Y-type cable going from it to both connections on the P3.
I have a Microbit AS-1289, web based antenna switch with an RS-232 output.
I am unable to connect the USB on my K3, modified with a KIO3B set of boards,
to my MacMini, running OS10.9.5. I am not able to connect it to my MacbookPro
running Sierra, 10.12.3, either. My Macs simply do not see the USB port. If I
look at the “About This Mac” report on the Macs, I see that a
I am downsizing to an apartment and I will not have room for a station. I am
selling a K3/P3 combination, along with microphone, interconnecting cables, and
manuals. Here are the details:

I’ve just had the KIO3B USB interface installed on my K3. When I plug it into
my Mac Mini I get the following message: “USB DEVICES DISABLED - Unplug device
using too much power to re-enable USB devices”. What does this mean? I am
unable to connect my logging program, MacLoggerDX.
THanks,
I got the K2 out for Field Day and it performed great! I’d never used the K2
with a computer, so I hooked it up and set up N1MM for the contest.
I was unable to get the function keys to operate and N1MM was a little
unstable, sometimes locking up. I was able to log contacts, but couldn’t send
I've just installed an svga card in my P3 and I'm trying to get it to work with
a 7 or 8 year old apple display monitor. It has a DVI male connector so I
purchased a DVI to VGA adapter. But the setup doesn't seem to work. Any idea
why? Any experience with this monitor and the P3 or is there a
Get 100 watts out of your K2!
In excellent condition with cables and manual, KAT100 amplified, KPA100 antenna

up until a few months ago. With this amplified/antenna tuner, it is a simple

I love my KX1, but powering it with 6 AA Lithium cells puts out just 1.5-2.0
watts. I’d like a little more umph, since most of the time I use the KX1 in the
field, so I also have a less than optimal antenna.
I’d like to power it with 12V, but prefer not to use an external battery. Just

I love my five year old K2, and although I have a K3, I’d like to keep using
the K2 for the field and digital. I’ve noticed that there have been discussions
on the two items below on the reflector, but they are years old. Does this
list’s collective brain trust have 2014 suggestions?

Last week, I asked for the group's help when I was in the field with a KX1 and
an antenna that wouldn't tune. Here's my report.
I trimmed the 66' wire that I have used as an End Fed Half Wave (with other
rigs and tuners) to 41 feet, added a 15 foot counterpoise, and the rig tuned
just fine.

I'm on vacation with my KX1 and my antenna isn't doing well. It is 65 feet of
telephone hook up wire and a 15 foot counterpoise. Nicely up 20' in a tree but
getting no tuning on 40 or 80 but tunes nicely on 30 and 20. I'm on the road so
can't make too many adjustments. Any emergency fixes so I
Here is a nice little primer I have found on LiPO batteries. There are not the
safer LiFePO4 batteries, however.

I am still wondering if anyone has a part number of a nice Li battery of any
chemistry that fits into the K2 battery space.
I have a K2 with the Elecraft internal battery. I think I'd like to replace the
battery that's in there with one with more modern chemistry - has anyone found
and installed a LiPO or similar cell that can fit in the space of the existing
gel cell battery?
As of today, I am the lucky owner of two K3s and of a wonderful salt water QTH.
I would like to remote the seaside K3 to my city QTH using the Remote Rig
options available on the Elecraft website but have these two questions:
1. What do folks general use for disconnecting the remote antenna and
