Hi,
I was curious if there was any update on the development status of the KX2
internal battery charger module.
Thanks!

Help:
That thing is a dead end running a five year old extremely low end
processor. Obviously N3FJP will run fine, but that’s about all it’ll be
tolerable for. The new Samsung Galaxy Book Go is probably the best choice
for a reasonably low cost and highly power efficient Windows 10 laptop

Though there may be technical reasons behind it, the biggest reason is
practical.
If you don't invert the sidebands, the total Doppler shift is the sum
of the shift on two bands. For a satellite in a standard LEO orbit
with an uplink at 2 meters and downlink at 70 cm, the total Doppler
shift is
Remember that Congress has completely rejected the President's budget
and has generally set funding levels far higher than requested,
especially for agencies involved in science and research, like NIST.
In this case, the House and Senate appropriations bills have funding

Or release it as source so it can be compiled and packaged for all

"Oh yeah, it will not do CW and SSB (only FM), but most of the LEO
satellites are FM, so it would work for most all the satellite
communications work available today. That radio provided satellite
credit at out last local club's Field Day."
This is incorrect. There are currently 4 active FM
VHF/UHF SSB rigs are not. Yaesu has the only "ultra portable" radio
with 2m and 70cm SSB/CW/AM.
I would absolutely love a KX2/KX3 style full-duplex VHF/UHF radio.

Produce a KX4 with 2m, 70cm, and full-duplex capability and you'd
consign the FT-81X line to the dustbin of history!

I would be interested and I know several others who would be as well!

A KX2 or KX3 sized full-duplex 2m/70cm radio would be amazing and fill a
big hole in current product availability.
Lots of satellite ops currently use an "FT-1634" or "FT-1674" (2 FT-817s or
1 FT-817 & 1 FT-857) for this purpose.
