I'm wondering if there is a suitable replacement for the 2SC1969 output
transistor used in the K-1. This device is now obsolete and not readily
obtainable. It would be nice to have a device that would readily replace it
that is current and perhaps has a bit more gain and dissipation.

Does anyone have a recently built K1 with the tuner and 40-30-20-17
frequencies? I have owned one before and foolishly let it go, and now would
like another one as a 'keeper'. Building a new one is not an option for me,

After a lot of consideration and a good bit of encouragement from several
members of this group, I have ordered a K2 with essentially all options
except for the 100W module. I had recently purchased a pre-built example of
each Elecraft rig (KX1, K1, K2) and after looking them over closely decided

board. Is there any reason it can't be constructed with 80 - 40 - 30 - 20
meters? If you purchase a new one it comes with 40 - 30 - 20 - 17/15 meters.

Well, Ive pretty much talked myself into a K1 but due to physical
constraints dont believe I can build it properly. Cant see up close at all
and cannot discern colors. So
if anyone has a clean, late model K1and needs
the wampum to buy a K2 to build then I want to hear from you. Ill pay a
