I did get one reply on this topic. Dave NK7Z has already documented nicely on
his website how to connect a Genovation keypad to the P3. The question was how
to connect it directly to the K3/K3S, if possible at all, in order to free the
P3’s USB-port.
A pre-Genovation "button box" was hooked up
Taking the P3 discussion one step further:
Based on the positive experience of other K3/K3S users I have ordered a
Genovation CP24 keypad to implement band buttons and change AGC settings on the
fly. Now, as I understand the P3 cannot handle more than one USB device and if

My teammate and I decided that we wanted to have a panadapter with mouse
support and point & click functionality for WRTC 2018. Unfortunately we did not
find the time to build and test alternative solutions to the P3 and
consequently decided against an Elecraft K3S as our radio. However, the K3/

right side where the power supply transformer sits.

instead of discussing things more objectiv

nearly infinite noise attenuation with the K3’s NR it comes at the cost of
signal intelligibility. At least I have
Hello Frank,
As of recently I have both a K3 (without upgrades) and a K3S. The improvements
which stick out for me are the improved CW timing of the new synthesizer at
speeds above 32WPM or so, the easiness and ruggedness of the new internal
soundcard when setting up digital modes, the selectab
Good to see the first reviews!
Can someone comment on the drive requirements?
The FCC document lists a worst case of between 75 and 80W input for 1500W
output on some bands. This might be close to the limit of some exciters in
RTTY. However, this is still less than the PowerGenius XL which seem
