Here's the recording of received audio on my K2, note the tone of the signal.
Happens only on 80m.

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my K2 and scratchy RX on receive audio.
The problem exists with or without headphones and at any volume. I tried
turning off AGC and it still was there and its on all strengths of signals (I
have limited access to anything stronger than S3 or so due to anten
Sam, loosen the screws in the knob, pull it away from the face a bit
and re-tighten. The resistance is "set" by the felt washer behind it.
If that doesn't fix your problem, you have something else going on
that I don't know about.
Good Luck

For sale is a Black Widow paddle built from a kit. It is finished in
clear coat but could use a refinish. It works great and has no
problems otherwise. Does not include cable.
Price is $50 + USPS shipping

Hi Frank. Straight keys are already pretty portable, and just about
any one will do pretty well. I personally am a fan of the "Soviet"
keys found on eBay since they have a cover that keeps the adjustments
from getting banged around. If you're looking SUPER portable, look at
the Palm Port
Hey guys, another update on my tuner troubles. We pulled out the TL072 we'd
put in place of U4 and checked the voltages through the RF bridge and
found everything to be good so the problems I've been having have been in
U4. For those who I may have not told, it turns out the first device I put

Alan, look at the Ten Tec kits - they have a few receivers and their kits
are top notch. They're regens so you know they're simple!
Good luck

To the list - I have yet to solve my problem with my KAT2. So far I have
replaced T1 which yielded the correct 3.4v on TX on the input to U4 and
0.74v on RX. Unfortunately U4 was not buffering that through to R6 so I
replaced U4. I now see the 3.4v on R6 in TX BUT 2.4v in RX. I have yet to

Still no solution for my power problem. Some correspondence with Gary at
Elecraft has me back where I started. I removed R6 and saw 0V at the output
of U4 but 2.5V on the input of U4 coming from U1 (pin 3 on U4). According
to the testing in the manual this should be 3-4 volts with a requested po
So I removed R6 in my attempt to isolate my problems with my power
readings and I found the DC voltage on U4, pin 1 to be .01V so
obviously there's a problem. The directions suggest checking T1. I
did not build this board so I don't know if the windings of T1 were
shorted when it was made

This has been beaten over and over I think but I haven't found
anything on it yet:
I just got back from the lab at work and used a very well calibrated
power meter to calibrate my KAT2 power meter. Now on 40m at home, I
set my power control to 5w and tuner to Pout. The tuner now reads
2.

I just got my K2 used and I went through and adjusted the CW filters
because I like mine lower than the previous owner but i have a
feeling I botched it up - I'm zero beat to the ARRL at 14.046.84, and
they transmit on 14.047.5 MHz.I also tried re-aligning the VFO

Hey guys, I'm going to finish my KAT2 tonight and I need to calibrate the
power and all that stuff. I have a 50 ohm dummy load so the SWR cal is good
but I dont have a power meter. Can I use the RF probe that was made during
the construction of the K2? If so, is there some documentation somewher
