A downstairs remodel ended up with me losing most of my workspace...the
good news is that it let me justify getting a KX3, so it's time to sell the
K3.

Just back from a check-up at the factory, this is serial #359 with:

  Filters on main board: 13, 6, 2.7, 500Hz, 200Hz
  Sub receiver with 2.7Khz filter
KBPF3 general coverage RX bandpass module
  KDVR3 digital voice recorder
  KPA3 100W module
  KAT3 internal ATU
KXV3A RX Ant, IF Out and Xverter interface
  K144XV 2 meter module
copy of Fred Cady's K3 book, 2nd edition
the factory manual (if I can find it)

>From the repair report, they found problems with burnt pins on the KPA3
module, which were replaced along with the corresponding socket.

The KXV3A upgrade was added along with the REMIOUPGD, KSYNTH3 stiffeners
and K312VMDKT

Updates include:
  8 volt regulator filter capacitor
  power meter diode upgrades D36 & D37
  new firmware
upgraded 8.215 trap with robust components
gold pins: 6 pins for 12V, RF board to KPAIO3 riser
gold pins: 6 pins for 12V, KPA3 to KPAIO3 riser
gold pins: front panel, P30 and P35

their summary reports that the radio meets or exceeds all factory
specifications, and I'll include a copy.

Current prices for this in kit form is $4262 -- asking $3,300 with FedEx
Ground shipping/insurance included to the lower 48. Non-smoking home and
except for a couple of rub marks--that you won't see unless you're looking
for them--it's an easy 9 out of 10 cosmetic condition, with all controls
working as expected.
