I have just tried 6 metre USB operation for the first time on my K3S and I
notice that as soon as I key the transceiver (without speaking into the
microphone), the transceiver draws a quiescent current of 18 Amps with a
power meter indication of zero. When I speak into the microphone, the

My K3S is configured to use the RX ANT IN port for a separate Rx antenna.
However, on SSB transmissions I can hear an internal relay operating in
synchronism with peaks in transmit power. I assume this is a relay in the
receiver input protection circuit?

When my K2/100 is keyed in SSB mode (connected to a dummy load) and the
microphone is gently tapped, I can hear a faint noise coming from somewhere
on the KPA100 printed circuit board. It is a low level buzzing/rattling
noise similar to a small metal object vibrating against a loudspeaker cone

I thought the following observations may be of help to anyone having
difficulty achieving the KPA 100 resistance measurements on page 44 of Rev H
of the KPA 100 manual.
I initially performed the checks using a DMM with the PCB illuminated by a
40 Watt bench light a few inches away. Resistance va
