> With all due respect guys........... > If it is OT it BY DEFINITION doesn't belong on this reflector...
This statement is incorrect. BY DEFINITION, this list WELCOMES topics of general interest. Here's the description from the Elecraft web page. (note the last sentence): "The ELECRAFT email list server (reflector) is provided to further the discussion of Elecraft products and related items. It serves as a forum for the discussion of both technical and operating topics including KX1/K1/K2/K3 features, construction and debug problems, sharing your enthusiasm and impressions from using our products and more general ham radio related topics of interest to our customers..." Also, from the published list guidelines: "While we do not overly restrict the subject matter on this list, and we encourage postings on a wide range of amateur radio related topics, please remember that the list's primary focus is on Elecraft products and their use. Many people rely on it for pointers on building, using and troubleshooting their Elecraft products." The list -primary- focus is on Elecraft products, but not it's sole one. Some of Elecraft's most innovative software updates for the K3 have been initiated by broad discussions on this very list, for instance. (Think APF) Posts about other companies products have been very beneficial to all here. In my opinion, indeed Eric (as moderator) does not overly restrict subject matter, but steps in when threads go on too long. I have always appreciated his light hand as a moderator. I enjoy reading many of the not-strictly Elecraft product-related posts. 73, Bruce N1RX ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
