Dave, If you are referring to the "EXTENDED VFO TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION PROCEDURE" which can be performed on a KX3, the XG3 is NOT recommended. It just doesn't have the same frequency/temperature stability as the XG50. However, for anything else, the XG3 should be fine. 73, Paul -- V

Hello Dave! It's all about stability. I used an XG3 to do the calibration of my KX3 during the development and testing phase of the calibration procedure. If the XG3 is to be battery powered, use a fresh battery. Do the calibration in a reasonably temperature stable environment. Let the XG3

Is it possible to use the XG3 rather than the XG50 for KX3 setup? If yes, does the XG3 require a burn-in of similar length? Also, if yes, after the initial burn-in period, what is the recommended warm-up time before use as an XG50 substitute? Thanks, all. 73 Dave G3TP _
