[Elecraft] [KX3]KXBC3 upgrade?

Is there any possibility that the KXBC3 will be upgraded to work with LiFePO4 AA cells. If I'm not mistaken the LiFePO4 cells are 3.2V so you could cut the number of cells in half and free up some space in the radio for other "stuff" also increasing available stand alone battery voltage to 12.8V
