I ran into the exact same thing this weekend. I have also noticed several
times if I change bands the P3 will not follow the new frequency of the K3.
A power cycle resolves this but.
When I get a chance I will try to establish the exact conditions of when
this occurs.

There had been an issue with the P3 not receiving band update
information from the K3 under certain conditions (e.g. when K3 bands
were turned off with the band map) but that was fixed several revisions
ago in K3 firmware.
