If you just punch the XMIT button it just puts the K3 into xmit with no RF out but if you hold the XMIT/TUNE button for 2 seconds or so I will put out RF so you can tune an amp or whatever. I find this an extremely useful function and use both often. 73 Mike K4PI __

Steve, You are correct that the FINAL tuning of an amplifier with adjustable L and C controls should be done at full power, but I see no need for those "pulsers" - do a preliminary adjustment with a low TUNE power, and then do a quick "touch-up" at the full power level - that only takes a coupl

When the TUNE button is engaged, are there settings that determine how the radio responds? On my radios, depressing the TUNE button will display the SWR. I would rather it displayed the frequency. I thought that K5ZD's K3 did exactly that when I used it at WRTC. Although somewhat impolite, I o
