Aaron,
That SWR normally indicates an open or shorted antenna connection. It
is the maximum value the KX3 can display.
What happens if you tune into a dummy load with a known good coax jumper
connecting the KX3 to the dummy load?

Arron,
Take a look at this URL:

Your solution to this problem may be as easy as this.

25.4:1 = No antenna found. Switch ports if you have the amp or check ALL
connections in the antenna circuit.
What have you “CHANGED”?

In my experience 25.4:1 denotes an open or possibly shorted antenna connection
or a failed SWR measurement circuit. What happens if you bypass the ATU and
transmit (or tune) into a known load? Do you get an expected SWR?

Did you try an external power supply? Did you check the BNC connection to
the ATU?
I would plug “elecraft atu 25.4:1” into my favorite search engine and start
a decision tree.

Any other ideas on the tuner?
It is still not tuning, and it just says 25.4:1.

Neither a low battery condition nor a bad feedline or connector will have
any bearing on the ATU.MD menu option.

Low batteries can also prevent accurate ATU operation, in my experience. The
ATU will do the best it can but can’t find a good match. Fresh batteries or a
switch to external power will help.

From what I’ve read, you have an open circuit to the antenna. Feedline
okay? I had a marginal feedline and had to replace it.
I also had a bad BNC cable that deformed the connector on the side of the
KX3 and had to replace it as well.

I have a KX3 with the ATU installed. I replaced the batteries and since
then the ATU will not tune. When I hit the ATU TUNE button it just says
25.4-1 and I can hear the relays going off. I opened it back up and looked
for any cables not connected or anything and it looked all fine to me but I
