My only rationale in choosing the 8-pole over the 5-pole filters is "it costs more, therefore it's (likely) to be "better". A very scientifically based decision. The cost difference isn't worth the wondering; "Would I have been just as satisfied with the lesser-cost 5-pole versions?" (:-)) I ha
