You weren't alone, Kevin - I did an "at home" field day as well and had a
great time.

In the true spirit of things, I put up a last minute antenna yesterday
afternoon - an 88 ft doublet fed with 300 ohm twinlead in an inverted V
configuration. Center at 27 ft on a telescoping Jackite pole and ends at
about 10 ft. The internal K2 tuner matched this wonderfully on 80 thru 10.
Strictly 5W CW all weekend and all on the one antenna. Took off a couple
hours Saturday evening when an intense thunderstorm passed thru and also got
in 5 hours sleep. Ended up with 301 QSOs and all sections except some NE
states and Maritime Canadian provinces, Virgin Islands and PR. KH6 this
morning on 40 was the best "DX". Mostly 40 and 20 with a few on 80 and 15.
Entire event powered by 7 AH 12V battery with solar panel recharge. Great
fun and LOTS of enjoyment from my K2 - what a rig!!!
