Hello K2 -users, I'm the owner of a K2 and for several reason using the Mic input to inject audio from different sources. For sequencing purposes (VHFsetup : transverter, Coaxial relay, preamp and Amp). I'm detecting the audio, generate a TX-request, switch over the complete chain from RX to TX and finally receive a TX-aknowledge wich is used as the PTT for the K2 on the mic connector. For test purposes, the whole chain is left out except the keying audio detection, TX-REQ > TX-AKN > audio/PTT into the K2. When keying at 30 WPM I found that the K2 at a certain point stopped transmitting (into a dummy with 0.5 W output) the injected audio (and monitored by my Drake TR7) while the PTT is still on and so the surpressed carrier is still on the air. The only way to get the audio from the Mic input back on top of the carrier is to stop TX-ing for just a second and start again. (open and close PTT). I checked the audio with a Tek-scope but can't see anything strange. It looks like something is blocked inside of the K2... for some reason at a "specified" moment Is there anyone out there who uses CW audio keying? and has some experiences. Thanks in advance, Evert, PA2KW _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
