Besides other grounding and lightning protection, which have been covered very thoroughly here several times, I have a last line of protection on the RS-232 input to the K3. It's manufactured by (for?) Tripp-Lite and sold as a model DB9. I'm not suggesting that it replaces any other lightning or

Tue night severe T'storms came through the Monroe, LA area. I lost my computer the the Comcast link. After that is when the ERR IO3 made itself known. I'm sermising I receive a spike through the RS232 cable. Is this possible? My antenna were disconnected along with power. -- RC KC5WA
