Greg-
ERR TXG problem resolved. The problem was the offset on the FL1
filter...I had it set for .86 rather than -.86. Once that was changed,
everything went like clockwork on the Transmitter Gain Alignment.
Thanks to you and so many others for your helpfulness.

        Cary

I take it you mean the 2.7 kHz filter? There is no 2.5.

You have the Filter Offset set as a negative number in CONFIG?

Hhmmmm...Did you do it after the REF Oscillator calibration? Or before it?

AFTER but don't see how that would affect it....

Please also check that all the coax connectors are fully seated in the
correct sockets.

I'll do that after I eat some supper....

What filter do you have setup for TX and what slot is it
in? Is it setup for all bands?

2.5 and it is FL1, all bands

Greg

That is exactly what I did and got the ERR TXG message on all bands at the
5-watt test level.

Carey. You still need to do the TX Gain calibration. That's what is
causing your error. Page 46/47 of the manual. Set power to 5W and hold
TUNE for a couple seconds on ALL BANDS. Then, if you have the KPA3
installed, you need to do the same for ALL BANDS at 50W.

Let me know how it goes.

The reference oscillator is now aligned with WWV - thanks to N0SS, W3FPR,
DJ7MGQ, and AD7FZ for responding so quickly - Tom talked me through it
thankfully.

I just did the Transmitter Gain calibration and get an error message - ERR
TXG - on all bands 160-6. So after passing all the tests/checks during the
build, I seem to be alignment challenged Even more frustrating is the
detail on the error message in the book says "it could affect one or two
bands (how about ALL?) and indicates a problem with band pass filter
alignment or one of the low pass filters. Could one of the J-pin connectors
be the first place to look?

BTW, the good news is the receiver in my K3 is absolutely fantastic! One
day, it'll all come together...
