Don and Tom,
Thanks to both of you for your answers. I understand the flexibility
that 8R gives your in term of T/R switching. Can I still feed my +8V to
the center pin of the coax to switch my Transverter thrue the RF in ?
Tom I saw your t-r switch ! If I understand it right on TX there is +
Martin,
I would not recommend that you take the 8 volts out of the K2.
As an alternative, develop the required DC voltage at the transverter
end, and then ground it during transmit with the K2 amp keying circuit.
OR - key a relay at the K2 end with the amp keying circuit, then use the
relay
Some transverter owners like to do float on transmit and ground on
receive. If you forget to plug in the key line (or if it breaks) the i-f
rig doesn't transmit into the transverters receive chain.
