Hello David, K2 is a great radio for portable use especially the low standby current. However, when you add up all the options in K2, you may wish to consider a basic K3.  The price difference is not huge but performance is miles apart.  cheers, Johnny VR2XMC __

Just wanted to say how pleased I am with K2 #7006. It works very well, and I have made several QRP contacts on different bands even with my currently terrible antenna setup. It currently has the SSB & Audio Filter options. Kudos to Elecraft, and all of the helpful members of this list. 73, AJ4T
