Hi All, I've just finished a putting together most of the options for the K2, the final one being the Noise Blanker. Ham fisted as I am, I managed to break one of the glass bodied diodes (D3 1N34A). I replaced this with a 1N5711 which is listed as an alternative in the manual, but was just wondering whether I should try to source one of the originals or whether I should not worry about it.
I was just curious as the 1N34A seems to be a much harder a part to get, and wondered why Elecraft would use these instead of the 1N5711 (which appear to be pretty common parts), if there was no 'performance' difference between the two?
